Velo Client 0.9.0

0.9.0 brings the Afterlife Halloween wings (they get their own post), makes new cosmetics show up without an update, and fixes two things that have been bugging you.

New cosmetics, no update needed

Wings and capes now come from the Velo server. When a new pair or cape drops, it appears in the Store right away - in the game and in the launcher - and its model and textures download in the background. Limited drops show how many days they have left.

The Cosmetics page has a new Wings tab: see every pair you own on your own skin, equip one, and tune size, height, distance, spread, flap speed and flap strength with a live 3D preview. The game picks your choice up the next time it starts.

Your cosmetics on the Home screen

The player on the launcher's Home screen now wears what you have equipped - cape, wings and aura - and turns slowly so you can see the back too.

Redstone Mode: better Replace

• Keep direction - blocks keep pointing the same way even when the two blocks store it differently: a crafter becomes a dispenser facing the same way, logs and chains keep their axis, signs and heads their rotation.
• Turn - replace and rotate in one go: 90° right, 180°, 90° left or the opposite way.
• Chance - replace only a share of the blocks, picked at random (great for mixing textures).
• Several blocks at once - e.g. stone, andesite, cobblestone.

Introducing Velo+

Velo+ is our new monthly subscription - and it keeps Velo Client going. It includes:

• The Velo+ badge - your logo with a red plus behind it, next to your name for every Velo player (chat, tab list, above your head).
• VIP role in our Discord - given automatically once you've linked your Discord, taken away again when Velo+ ends.
• Velo Coins every month to spend on wings, capes and auras.
• The Velo Client Addons - Cinematic Camera, Fly Boat, Auto Eat, Storage Finder, Entity Finder, Auto Tunnel Miner, Ender Chest Farmer, Auto Excavator and Sound Radar. They're now exclusive to Velo+ and no longer on GitHub; the launcher installs and updates them for you.
• Supporting the development of Velo Client.

Velo Neon: free with Discord

The Velo Neon cape isn't sold in the Store - you get it by joining our Discord and linking your account. In the Store's Capes tab (launcher) or with the Link Discord button (in-game Store) you get a short code; type /link and the code in our Discord and the cape is yours.

A much snappier launcher

Cosmetics, Store, News and Home used to freeze while capes decoded on the main thread (and sometimes ran out of memory). Pages now open instantly with a small spinner and the previews fill in after; news shows straight away from the last visit and updates in the background; cards animate lighter. Cape previews use a fraction of the memory.

Fixes

• Wings showed as equipped but weren't on your player after starting the game until you re-equipped them - they're there right away now.
• Session Auto-Fixer could stay on "Fixing session..." forever for some accounts. The session was actually refreshed, but switching to it failed - that's fixed, and if anything ever goes wrong the button tells you instead of getting stuck.
• The launcher's sidebar now highlights Cosmetics while you're on it.
• A profile you'd used to join a server disappeared from the Home list as a plain "just play" entry - it's always there now.
• The News page could end up wider than the window (scrolling sideways) until you resized it a few times - images in posts now fit the window right away.
• Things the Velo team gives you show up in Cosmetics and the Store right away, without restarting the launcher.
• Wings and auras are no longer cut off on the Home screen.
